Best Lighting for an Outdoor Portrait

Do you ever look at a photo and notice the lighting, the look or the feel of a photo and thought wow that looks really good or the total opposite and you didn’t like the photo at all?
Most likely the photographer either took the time to watch the lighting throughout the day or just took it by the seat of his pants. To get the best lighting for your portraits is either early in the morning or late afternoon. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get a great portrait done any other time, but early morning and late afternoon are the best times. Remember if weather does not cooperate or if things go awry during your portrait session you can always reschedule.
